Grace Laurencin, M.D. M.P.H.
Dr. Laurencin is a board-certified family physician with over 15 years of clinical experience in the Santa Cruz area, practicing locally at the Santa Cruz Medical Foundation since 1990. A well-known and respected member of the medical community, she has won numerous awards for her competent and compassionate care.
Born in Pennsylvania, Dr. Laurencin received her B.A. in Religious Studies at Brown University, her M.D. and Masters in Public Health at Boston University, and her residency training at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). She recently completed a research fellowship in chronic disease with an emphasis on diabetes and depression, and is an assistant clinical professor at UCSF. A Fellow of the Academy of Family Medicine since 2000, Dr. Laurencin has lectured on Western and non-Western approaches to chronic medical problems, as well as health issues such as body image and the role of nutrition in health and disease. She welcomes the opportunity to return to primary care in a more comprehensive, personalized, and patient-centered setting.
